Peeku is a learning app for children aged 3 to 7, made by Saral Labs (Diptendu Das). It has no ads, no subscriptions and nothing to buy. This policy explains what the app keeps, what it sends, and how to remove it.
These are stored in the app's private storage. They are not sent to us or to anyone else, and they are excluded from Google cloud backup.
Anonymous usage and crash reports, only if a parent turns them on. At setup, and at any time in the parent zone, a parent can allow anonymous reports through Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. They are off until a parent says yes. When on, they contain:
They never contain the child's name, avatar or anything typed. The advertising ID, ad personalisation and the Android SSAID are switched off and the advertising-ID permission is removed from the app.
The minimum-version check, always. On launch the app asks Firebase Remote Config for the lowest app version that is still safe to use. This request carries no information about the child and is made whether or not reports are on. It exists so that a version with a serious bug can be asked to update.
Google Play services. Each time the app opens it asks Google Play whether a newer version exists, and Google Play may show its own update screen. After the app has been opened a few times, Google Play's review sheet may be shown to a parent on entering the parent zone, after the gate; it is never shown on the child's screens. Sharing the app sends only the Play Store link, through the app the parent picks.
Google's handling of this data is described in the Google privacy policy and Firebase privacy information.
The app does not ask for the camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage or the advertising ID.
Prompts are spoken by the text-to-speech engine already on the phone. Peeku does not record audio and does not use the microphone.
Peeku is designed for children and follows Google Play's Families policy. It does not show ads, does not collect personal information from children, and keeps every setting that matters behind a parent gate (a multiplication question with the numbers written as words).
In the parent zone a parent can delete one child's profile and progress, or choose Delete all data to remove every profile, all progress and all settings. Uninstalling the app also removes everything stored on the phone. Anonymous reports already sent cannot be linked to a child; to ask about them, email us.

If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app and at this address, with a new date at the top.
